" Great place to stop by to have a meal and enjoy a decent cup of traditional coffee. Quite like the Grilled Chicken with Cheese and Herb Rice. Expect queues to form during weekends as place is rather small. Cozy setup nonetheless! "

" Patrons can try coffee from each state in Malaysia. Very nice breakfast too.Very interior is nicely decorated , do explore the inside of the shop and see wall murals , nice wall hangings. Very relaxing ambience. "

" Great coffee shop but the choice is just below average for the price is almost the same as all other cafes in this area. You can just pop in for a coffee and a piece of cake just in front a daily paper and a friend. It's good atmosphere and service is just as good. I will come back but pizza will be on my list next... Mmmm "

" Gula melaka toast and green tea coffee are way too good! Surprisingly not too sweet as what I thought! Good environment with some music played on the background by nearby blind musician. Nice experience! "

" The food is authentic and reasonably priced. The environment is cozy although it can be noisy during the peak hours. However, it's a nice place to have a meal. "

" Very nice place to visit, staff are so welcoming and friendly. I tried the Melaka Ice blended coffee & Calanthe Laksa and they were both delicious, the tofu had a really great crispy texture. I really enjoyed sitting and taking in all of the quirky sculptures and art around the restaurant. Calanthe is the perfect retreat after a day of sightseeing.
14 February 2018(Also bought the local brownie to take out, it was so rich and tasty, would go very well with any of the coffee here!) "

" The atmosphere is very nice and cooling. I’m here at 4pm and I’m in the shade. There’s a blind musician across the street playing a traditional Chinese instrument.
13 February 2018The service here is top notch especially for tourists and foreigners.
They supposedly serve 13 types of coffee from all 13 states of Malaysia. Unfortunately I can’t take caffeine anymore it causes me some weird gastrointestinal pain.
But they serve a medley of food here till 10pm (last call). I will be back at dinner to try their laksa. "

" Liked the coffee-fragrant atmosphere here. Good for a relaxing afternoon to drink coffee & bite into toasted bread. That's what we did. Make a choice of coffee from 13 Malaysian states. Coffee well brewed and distinctive. The manageress was friendly despite her busy running around. She recommended the cafe's specialty: nyonya laksa (praised by Malaysian Tourism Body). Unfortunately, we had to give it a skip as we had already taken lunch elsewhere, which included laksa. The interior was good setting for taking photos. Watch out for that old bulky cathode-ray tube type of TV set. It was converted into something amusing. So creative! "

" Serviceable cafe just of Jonkers walk. Opens earlier than a lot of the places and a good range of coffee. "

" Really enjoyed the food! The laksa and coffee is awesome.. the asam stingray is great too! Worth a visit, will definitely come back again "

" Local coffee is great but not espresso or latte. Satay is nice, claypot laksa and chicken rice is below my expectation although taste ok. Wanton doesn't go well with tuna, bad combination. "
02 September 2017Nicholas Lee
" Great tasting laksa though not the cheapest. Fair portion for the price. The salted egg chicken was surprisingly good too so give that a try. We had a Cucumber Mint cooler /crush that was very refreshing and went nicely with the laksa too. "

" Nice cheesecake we had. The juice also nice. We came back for laksa. It was amazing. Really recommend the laksa. "

" Beautiful place to have lunch or breakfast! First of all if you love art then you will definitely love this little cafe!! It's Beautiful! They normally would recommend their 13 state coffees. I ordered their laksa! It was delicious! It was filled with fishcakes tofu! Eggs and the broth was to die for. If u love a little slice in your broth they do serve a little chillie on the sides. Overall it was delicious . Price $$.
15 August 2017Will I done in again? Yes I will! "

" This place has a nice ambience. I had curry laksa and pong teh which was good. The list of coffee from different states were also impressive. But if you are a local coffee lover, the taste doesn't justify the local coffee taste "

" Vintage nyonya-style decor and nice environment. Lots of coffee choices. Local Food in big portion. "
17 June 2017Jenny Maureen Atun
" The food is delicious! We had their signature calanthe laksa and claypot e-mee laksa. The broth is thick and flavorful with just the right amount of spice. It gets crowded during lunch hours but the coffee and food are worth the wait. The place uses a lot of natural light and yellow lights giving it a very nice ambience. And the wall arts are very interesting. It's a good place to cool down after walking around. "

" This dark yet cosy coffee house sits along an inner street at the beginning of the Hard Rock end of Jonker Walk. Hidden from plain sight yet a favourite spot among tourists and locals speaks a fair bit about its attraction.
27 April 2017It'd probably be fair to call Calanthe a hipster hang out space with its alternative interior decorations combined with a forest-like feel. Its most visible signboard touts Calanthe's novelty of 13 different coffee combinations for each of Malaysia's states.
It serves a variety of snack foods as well and is suitable as a getaway spot from the hustle and bustle of Jonker Walk. Seating arrangements also vary with some suited for proper dining with others for casual group hangouts or a good book read alone.
Calanthe is arguably one of the least commercially tuned places in this tourist infected street and has helped it retain a large clientele over the years. "

" Tried their Coffee Chicken Rice and it was unique and nice. Asam Pedas was the best ❤️ Texture was perfect with lots of veggie. Also tried their Very Koo drink, its a blend of health drink. Definitely recommend. "

" A specially decorated small cafe that sells food around rm10-20+. I went for dinner & ordered dish of the day which comes with free iced tea. The menu call it as white laksa but to me it is the deep fried slice fish beehoon soup with milk. Rm12.90. Dessert menu for tea time promotion ~rm11 looks tempting. "
