" I actually stayed at Nirwana gardens but we went to Mayang Sari for dinner in the evening to the "Spice" restaurant in the resort. The food was decent and they also have menu for kids or smaller portions for them. It has a nice outdoor sitting space and the portions are generous "

" We stayed in Nirvana Gardens last time and we were staying in Canopi this time. However for having Indian food we had to come to Spice Restaurant in Mayangsari by spending 20 S$ For return car fare from Canopi.
02 April 2018Good thing is that you get decent Indian food at Spice Restaurant and they have variety too.
However, what I found to be very unfair practice is that they give you only one papadum even though you order two curries . Each curry is supposed to be coming with one set of papadum but they told it is our RULE that on any Indian food table, we can serve only 1 papadum irrespective of curries you order. This was not a fair practice.
We felt bad about it as we spent 20$ to just visit this restaurant and they strictly told that it is a Rule they have. I would say a fine dine restaurant like this must review their practices and be fair to its customers. It’s not about money but how you make your customers feel.
Visited Spice Restaurant for dinner on 2 -Apr-18 . "

" A nice place by the sea. The cost is relatively high. The infrastructure is a little rusty and needs a good renovation. The location is fantastic. The service is good but a little inflexible for a vacation resort :) "

" Actually we were here to the Spice Restaurant because the Kelong Restaurant was packed. It turned out that it is so much better.. although not much variety to our taste, we managed to find something unique and a good quiet dinner. "

" It's a great place to stay and chill by the beach. Spize restaurant was our favourite place to dine in the area, and Chef K serves up tasty Indonesian cuisine. "

" Been to this resort ever since I was a child but it is very very well maintained.
08 August 2017We even stayed in the same villa we did a few years ago and everything still looks and feels new. The villas are beautiful and just a stone's throw away from the beach. It offers such beautiful serenity and ambience, perfect for instagram shots.
Service has always been pleasant and the breakfast spread is not to be missed.
Perhaps the only change we found a little unsettling was using only IDR as they used to accept SGD currency as well. The prices at the Spice Restaurant for a standard meal for 5 was quite expensive which I believe is due to the conversion rate.
But all in all, Mayang Sari remains as a beautiful and memorable place in our hearts over the years. "

" Wonderful bay with nice cabins directly at the beach - relaxing place to chill out - in good shape as renovated a few years ago - really good Indonesian, Indian and Kellong restaurants on premise - prices are on Singapore level "

" We keep coming back to Mayang Sari for our Bintan hoidays. the beach is fabulous and the sea view chalets are clean and well kept. The resort staff makes it all the more worthwhile to stay here. Everyone is friendly and always smiling. The attached restaurant is called Spice. We had some delicious food there. looking forward to more holidays here. "

" By virtue of the sea being right in front of the chalets, I easily fall in love with this place! Just one thing that puzzles me, why move the bench out to the porch to face the merciless elements of wind and rain and dust? Was much better to have it in the chalet I feel. "

" Husband and I were looking for a place to unwind, away from the hustle and bustle of Singapore. We were very fortunate to find Mayang Sari which has villas next to a very private bay and beautiful sand. As the bay belongs to the resort, the only other people on the beach are usually guests. Given that there aren't many villas, the guest to beach length ratio is definitely lower than that at the hotel nearby. That gave us more privacy and quiet to enjoy during our stay.
06 April 2017The services are good as well, with the service staff always greeting you with a smile, and they are extremely helpful. I left my bag at the restaurant one evening, and they proceeded to deliver it to my room with my articles all present. Very good service. "

" The location of the hotel was good, particularly for the Tour of Bintan cycle race, which I participated in this year (2017). The hotel rooms were large and clean, with comfortable beds and modern bathrooms. Where the hotel falls short is in value for money. Coming from Dubai, we are used to paying a lot of money for basic things, but were surprised to find prices at the Nirwana Gardens resort (of which this hotel is part) on par - or more expensive - than the UAE. This, I don't believe, is representative of Indonesia and we felt that we were being taken for a ride when we were not going for a ride..! We even paid extra for transportation of our bikes, which in the end we had to handle ourselves and place in the coach luggage hold. No special service was provided - not even a concierge to take our luggage to our room (why work for tips when your prices include a hefty 'service charge', I guess).
08 March 2017This hotel was fine for the cycle race, but f I was a tourist visiting the island for any other reason I would think again about this hotel and probably stay somewhere like the Banyan Tree, which isn't much more expensive but certainly much better value for money. "

" Comfortable resort that is quiet. Nothing much to do. Good spa nearby. No tubs in the rooms, only standing showers. Breakfast was a good spread, average quality. Shuttle buses every 30 mins to other parts of the resort. "

" It is a nice place to stay, well connected by comfortable ferries from tanah merah in Singapore. The beach (white sand) on this resort is nice and clean. I had some problems with the room but the good part is that the staff is very friendly and cooperative. So everything is fixed as soon as it is reported. Definitely recommended. "
