The ATI Makassar Polytechnic is one of the state higher education institutions under the auspices of the Indonesian Ministry of Industry. The ATI Makassar Polytechnic was founded in 1967 under the name Makassar Industrial Technology Academy with the Decree of the Minister of Industry and Trade No. 273 / SK / M / 1967, dated April 28, 1967, to meet the industrial workforce needs of Eastern Indonesia. The presence of this education until now has experienced more changes in the implementation of education, including changes in bachelor degree education to non-Diploma III degree education based on a joint decree with the Minister of Industry and the Minister of Education and Culture dated 6 June 1981 concerning the implementation of the Diploma III Program in the Department of Industrial Engineering.
