" very nice place to visit if you like nature. My advice, dont visit during public holidays in Indonesia, the place is very crowded. Sunrise is the best attraction in mount Bromo, you need to start riding a 4x4 Jeep very early in the morning (2:00am) to secure a place in the viewing deck. We rented a villa in the down town for a night and booked our ride up to the viewing deck. "

" This is a magical location. Very cold at night. Get up before dawn and make the trek over the sea of sand for a dark ascent up the many stairs. Be cautious - no safety rails at the top, and steep drops on each side. But the moment the sun comes over the horizon, it is just wonderful. "

" Amazing scenery and great open view of the sand sea, especially in the morning. Though full of various transports, to get to the top of mount bromo, and also great to visit when foggy, to look out for atmospheric optics. "

" Nice national park crowded by several wild species of 4WD (mostly Toyota and Daihatsu) as well as motorbikes (Honda and Yamaha).

When we visited the park there were about 400 jeeps packed with tourists and as many motorbikes. One can do the same by foot but seems not to be an attractive option for many which makes it unpleasant for the ones who do it (super loud and polluting vehicles everywhere).

From the border of the park to the sunrise viewing point it takes about 2h walking through the crater (pro tip: take a torch since no light before 5:00am), Bromo and the temple are half way so about 45 min. The way to the viewing point is pretty steep when you start going up (concrete road) but as soon as the road turns to asphalt it's not that bad. In any case taking a jeep is not necessary. "
