In a ceremony held on 12 September 2018 in Malacañang, Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia, H. E. Leehiong T. Wee awarded PhP 1 million cash incentive to each of the four Philippine Gold Medalists (3 Individual and 1 Team) in ASIAN GAMES 2018. (Note: The Philippine Women's Golf gold medalists donated their cash incentives to support the national golf programs.)

Yuka Saso and the National Women’s Golf Team agreed to donate their cash bonuses to the National Golf Association of... the Philippines’ (NGAP) golf development program, as they are not allowed to accept any and all forms of financial reward, since they are actively playing in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States. They will automatically lose their amateur status if they keep these incentives, they said in a joint statement provided by the NGAP and released to the media. (Source: Inquirer Golf/Facebook)

Ambassador Wee expressed his profound congratulations to the Gold Medalists and thanked them for the pride and honor that they have given to Philippine athletics and the Philippines. He hoped that their victory will inspire others, particularly the youth, as it highlighted importance of discipline and perseverance in achieving goals.

Ambassador Wee said that their victory will inspire the youth to veer away from drug addiction and other social ills.
