" It is a good museum for paintings but unfortunately lack of explanation of what they display. Especially for the collection of wayang. Which is which I did not really understand. It will be nice if they give number on the collections exactly like the ones they put on the list they displayed. "

" The new building has been built just beside Mr. Abdullah's old house & intended as main exhibition venue, the number of paintings seems quite few here consider Mr. Abdullah was one of Indonesian maestros from last century.
11 March 2018The entrance ticket fee IDR 2K is surprisingly very affordable. "

" A very unique and fun museum, the workers are really nice and friendly. My first time visiting this museum, because there is a workshop about "simple eye drawing technique". It makes eye drawing simple, with a great result. Keep up the good work! "

" Rp 2000 / person for entrance fee, excellent collection, beautiful pictures and interesting story about Basoeki himself, really a world class artist from Indonesia.
21 December 2016The building is new, well maintained, clean, with elevator, good lighting, label of items are in English. The guide is very friendly and give insight information.
Should be visited by all Indonesian and visitors who like to know about art and history. "

" Im very grateful to know most of our Maestro's painting are still well-preserved. We can see most of the portraits of world leader painted by Basoeki Abdullah. My personal favourites are Bu Tien, Dewi Soekarno and a painting that is started by Bu Tien and then finished by the Maestro. Definitely will come back here soon once they open the new part of the museum! "

" After his murder in 1993, Basoeki Abdullah's former house was turned over to the state and became a small museum for some of his works. Unfortunately there aren't that many of his major works displayed in this museum. His painting of Diponegoro, instead, belongs to the national gallery. Some of his major portraits also belong in state palaces. However, what few of his works displayed here, mostly portraits, are enough to give a taste of his enduring talent. My favourites are one titled Buruh and Soeharto in his later years. Both show strong expressions in their eyes. How did Basoeki Abdullah manage to capture such powerful emotions? Finally, the government is opening an annex building, a proper museum, next to the house at the end of November 2016. Hope to see more of his works there. "

" The best museum experience so far. I learned so much just from 1 visit.
21 August 2016You are allowed to see the details in Basoeki Abdullah's painting and how his style matured with European art influence.
The guide was very informative and knowledgable. The way he represents the artworks made it a very enganging experience.
If you're into portrait paintings or fine arts in general, this should definitely be in your list. "
