In order to assure the commitment of Bali Declaration on the Protection of the Marine Environment from Land-based Activities adopted at the fourth session of the Intergovernmental Review Meeting (IGR-4) and to assertively and effectively addressing regional priorities, Indonesia has established Regional Capacity Center for Clean Seas (RC3S) in Bali, Indonesia.Carrying the same spirit at the fourth session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-4), countries have also agreed to adopt the Resolution on the Protection of the Marine Environment from Land-based Activities. This resolution emphasizes the importance of Bali Declaration and Indonesia's initiative to establish RC3S as a hub for strengthening capacity building in the field of protection of the marine environment from land-based activities.
