" This temple is HUGE. I mean HUGE. We just did the most touristic attraction, which is just 2 minutes to go to, and it was enough for enough because it’s already breathtaking. The view is magnificent over Mt Agung and perfect to make some good pictures, and stay for half an hour just to enjoy this mystical place.
If you want to go to the top, it’s a 4h trek.
Don’t be scared of the comments saying you have to make a donation, it’s really not much and up to you, they just make you pay 10,000 for a sarung (it’s true it’s free in other places but there are no such places elsewhere).
Anyway, we really enjoyed it and everyone going will.
Try to go early to avoid hot weather and the crowd "

" People are rude and they ask for s donation which is fine but they want you to give more. They rent you the Sarong (all other temples is free). If its cloudy is not worth the visit "

" What a great way to get some exercise and stretch your legs as you’ve likely driven for some time to visit the temple of Lempuyang Luhur. A sarong is necessary but easily rented from the friendly Balinese operators. Very warm in the afternoon, unexpectedly so, given the altitude. Worth a 1.5 hour visit for sure. "

" Awesome Location..
A very quiet place.
Extraordinary view of Mount Agung from here
The way to lempuyang temple itself is so adventurous, Narrow Steep bends
You gotta wear sarong to enter the temple permise. You can also rent it in ticket counter for 10000 rupiah
There is no entrance fees, but they request donation "

" One of the temple staff was very strange. When we did not want to enter immediately to the temple (of course for money) and we walked towards on the asphalt road ( outside from temple walls) for the view, he started to be angry and screaming: "YOU HURT MY TRADITION! THIS IS TEMPLE AREA!" I answered politely: "There is no warning to stop. This is just a simple road, nothing else, but I am sorry if I hurt your tradition." It was not enough for him, he started to follow us and shouted: "BETTER TO GO AWAY AND NEVER COME BACK" Seems to me no money no honey.
His behaviour was very unpolite, agressiv, and it is a big shame for the Balinese people. "

" Beautiful. Worth the trek all of the way up! Over 5 miles round trip and took about 4 hours up/down including some short breaks and photo stops (and a good amount of time at the top. The view up top is beautiful. Monkeys when you get close to the top. Friendliest people along the trail. Amazing meal (Besak) at one of he huts coming back down for 10,000 rupiah. An experience I’m so thankful for! "

" Wonderful. People were helpful here. Good idea to go to the toilet prior to going up especially if you are going ALL the way up. There are beautiful views and good places to take pics. There's a 10000 rp fee for sarong and a donation of your choice to enter. There are three temples. The first is where many take pics. The second is under construction. The third is at the top of about 1700 stairs (an hour hike). There are places to eat or for snack along the way. "

" Best expirience from all Bali temples. This one is just gorgeous. You can visit all templet, which is like 4 hour walk and 1.700 steps up and then again down. We made it all the way up, very nice walk, but if you expect some nice temples up there you would be disapointed. No nice temple up, but the view is just breathtaking ( of course, if you have good weather conditions, if it is cloudy, do not bother yourself going all the way ). From the first temples coming very famous photos from Bali looking at Agung, gorgeous volcano!
Last but not least thing - if you forget to bring your own sarong, you can rent it here for 10k :) "

" Love temple. The famous gates are only about a 5 minute walk from entrance. The people working are very knowledgeable and friendly. They asked us to not take any photos with our feet above our head out of respect of their religion. I was also wearing a tank top and asked if that was disrespectful, they gave me a sarong to cover up with too. If in the area I recommend visiting!
Also be aware that the google maps location is wrong just follow the signs. "

" Ensure you plan a whole day for this activity as the drive is long and if you are feeling energetic then a round trip to see all 7 temples can take around 4 hours. Cheap admission and they donations without forcing any fees. Beautiful temples built in a tough environment which makes it all that more amazing. Worth a visit to get away from the usual areas populated by tourists. "

" As the oldest Hindu temple in Bali, Pura Luhur Lempuyang is an amazing pre-historic religious complex that shares similar significance to Pura Besakih (the mother temple of all Hindu temples in the whole island).
Perched on top of Bisbis Hill or Mount Lempuyang at Karangasem, this Hindu temple stands out due to its succession of 7 ascending temples along the mountain side. You will need to climb 1,700 steps to reach for the glorious views of valleys, volcano, and the distant seas. This epic combination and the temple itself will put you at a loss of words (and lack of breath). But you will be rewarded with a perfect bird’s eye view (and if the weather cooperates, clouds tend to build in the afternoon) "
