" We had a very pleasant stay. The room was neat and the staff helpful and friendly. Tip: get own guide and transport, they tend to over charge at the resort. "

" If you want to stay in a hotel that actually makes you feel like you are in Bali, stay at the Melasti. No it's not pristine and sanitised looking like all the other resorts in Legian but all those got built within the last 5 years. The Melasti has been there since the 80s and has been refurbished quite recently. It has got charm and character. The gardens are wonderful and so well kept. The pool bar is awesome. The rooms are clean and very comfy. Huge comfy bed. Most importantly, the staff is the best. Never intrusive but always helpful, they will make your stay, especially if you want to organise a tour. The spa at the front of the hotel is another highlight. Great range of treatment and very professional staff. Will be back for a 3rd stay. "

" I stayed at the Melasti for 5 nights from the 11th of February with the recommendation from a friend well i was put in the old part of melasti in a deluxe room the room was large and clean but no hot water for 3 days and half a day no water at all i asked to be moved into the new section to no avail no rooms left as everyone asked to be moved as well breakfast diluted fruit juice choice of apple or orange it was terrible a choice of 2 cereals corn flakes and chocolate corn flakes then the hot food chicken nuggets fried rice or noodles and potatoes sometimes tiny dried pancakes there was an egg station but trying to find the cook to make something was a challenge their restaurant was empty for both lunch and dinner wonder why some staff were friendly others not so I Do not recommend staying at this resort "

" The hotel looks tired but I could not fault how tidy and clean our rooms were and the gardens. Pools were fantastic. Food was great. If you looking for a comfortable stay this a great place. Staff were so helpful and very friendly. "

" Worst hotel experience i ever had. We booked this hotel for transit as we had a flight late night. as we entered the room, noticed there was a leakage on bathroom floor, we called reception to get it wiped. Even after waiting for half an hour, no one came to clean the floor. lot of mosquitoes in the room. Bedsheet was not changed looked like they just made the bed with previously used sheet. not worth even small amount of money. Reception staff not polite. We booked the room for one night but could not stay there even for couple of hours and checked out. I would never recommend this hotel. I would instead recommend Kuta Central Park in the same budget. if you have more budget go for Hotel Kuta Paradiso. "

" The reception never seemed to have any money to change up. One night at 9.30pm had to go to reception to complain that the people above us were dragging furniture across the room and making a hell of a noise. Turned out to be hotel cleaners. Honestly?...at that time of night!!!!!!! Other people have experienced the same but thought they had noisy guests above them. "

" Run down and needs updating. Saying that we had a huge room and still had a great holiday. Breakfast was very average and did not eat at dinner time at restaurant. Pool area good and on beach front. Lots of restaurants, shops and bars nearby. "

" Standard rooms are quiet old. Internet is very poor but on the up side, breakfast is very nice with a variety of foods. Big pool has seen better days but loved it anyways. "

" What you pay is what you get for it.
14 June 2017Loving
The staff
The pools
The big rooms with huge beds
Location
Room is very clean
Didn't like
Fitness room
Kids club is a bunch of old toys pilled in a small room
Price and food are ok for being a front beach hotel. Breakfast has improved loads.
I think is a good option for families with small kids as has good access to the rooms and commun areas with the pram. Also a great space for the little ones to run. you can even go to the beach with the pram or go to restaurants without having to deal with the heavy traffic of the street, as it's connected by one end to the beach path full of restaurants "

" The staff are fantastic pool area is kept spotless I've had a great stay here. 10 out of 10 "
12 June 2017Damian Stawiszynski
" Absolutely filthy and dated. Moved 3 times to a different room. Each one as gross as the last. Booked for 6 nights stayed 1 night before moving. The bathroom smelled absolutely putrid like sewage and all the handles are rusty and with mold. Showerw rattled when showering. See photos. Curtains stained, cupboards Dusty, gross icecube tray in the fridge, broken light fixtures, music next to pool woke us up with people screaming in pool area. Staff are nice but for what you pay for expected better even thought cost was not expensive.
23 May 2017Just seems like they have skimmed totally on maintenance throughout the rooms and have did dodgy repair works. Which is a concern. "

" Location, Location, Location. On the beach side, so no having to walk half a mile to find public access to the beach.
27 April 2017-------
Shopping just outside front gate if you need to scratch that itch. Tailors, spas, souvenirs, trinkets, everything you would expect.
Back of the resort and across a quiet service road is the beach with a locally run bar / cushions / drinks and hawkers. Great place to watch the sun go down and get a foot massage!
Hawkers on the beach can be annoying but are not overly aggressive at all - they are just trying to make a living.
Just say no firm and polite and they leave you alone.
(I think this may be a benefit of the local "beach boss" not wanting the hawkers to chase you away from buying another drink!)
^*Do NOT say "maybe later" as a polite No unless you mean it! They WILL come back! -Every sale really counts for these gentle people.

Staff at the resort are friendly and honest.
They are on island time, and that's not a staff shortcoming, it's the local culture.
Half of the resort has had a facelift and the pool could use one; and the other half needs a facelift, but that second pool has been re-done, so nice balance either way.
Rooms are relatively spacious, and the staff do a great job keeping them clean.
Prices are very reasonable/ extremely fair value. "

" Unfortunately we drew the short straw with Melasti. If you are going to book here, make sure you ask for a room in the recently renovated part of the hotel. There were 3 of us staying, and we had 5 rooms across 3 nights because of things going wrong. The air conditioner wasn't working- was blasting out hot, smelly air & leaking water. Reception wouldn't give me new towels even though I had to use mine to mop up the leaking water. In the next room, there were 5 leaks in the roof when it started raining! Again, I was using my towels to hold the water, because staff told me "it's normal to have roof leaks in the rainy season"- not when you're paying to stay at a hotel!! Another issue in another room was bed bugs (they were more like tiny black mites that littered the entire bed when we pulled back the covers), and another room reaked of sewage & all the drains in the bathroom were blocked & spilling over. Despite having to change rooms multiple times we were never upgraded to the new part of the hotel, to make up for the inconvenience. It's also the start of December so it was very very empty- no excuse that it's booked out. We have since moved to a hotel in Sanur to enjoy the remainder of our holiday! "

" Being going to Bali for just on 20 years. Stayed at different hotels. Melasti would have to be the best for location and value. Super friendly staff and the rooms have everything you need for a great holiday. Definitely wouldn't stay anywhere else. "

" Not bad for the price. We paid to upgrade and the room was massive. Third floor is quite warm even with the air con, we moved down to the second floor and it stayed cool there. Pool bar is great too also close access to the beach. "
26 March 2016Annie Harris
" This resort is in need of upgrade! Nothing works! You get what you pay for! "

" Spent 9 Days with full family,4 adults and 4 grand children in mid May and stayed in the family suites (109/110), usually my wife and myself stay at the deluxe rooms near oval pool and have done for the last 12 or so stays.Nothing different the staff, whether it was cleaning, garden or kitchen staff were always friendly and helpful. To Rita and her management staff a BIG thank you for a very pleasant stay and will see again next year, unfortunately without the grandchildren. If any one is looking for a hotel that can cater for family holidays then the family suites would be ideal as they have a dividing door to each room but can be locked for your own privacy if required. The gardens are a credit to the staff and there is play ground, which my grandchildren played for hours down near the beach.Hope this review will help holiday makers in some way.Sorry for the late review!!
