" Loved this place because of the lovely family owners. Papajero organised cars for us and his lovely wife cooks in the restaurant attached to the accommodation. The food is lovely and reasonably priced. You are up in the clouds on top of a ridge with amazing views of the lakes and fields close by. A relaxing peaceful place to stay away from the cities, near treks and waterfalls. "

" Good for 1 night if you're in need of a place, but not more. When we first arrived they were friendly, until we turned down their tour guide services and then they became very bitter and rude. The rooms are very muggy and infested with bugs and cochroaches. Showers did not work and when they did, it was cold and no pressure. The family is very dishonest and lied to us about the shuttle bus schedule so that we would have to take their very overpriced taxi services. (We didn't.) When we said no to their taxi they laughed and admitted that they lied. "

" It's a beautiful place to spend a few nights. Easy to access a tracking routes and waterfalls. Owners has a beautiful place to see a sunset. And you will have a chance to play on local instruments. You can refill a water here.

" Stay is quite affordable and cheap. Staff is very friendly. Papa jero, the owner is very friendly and tells you a lot abt their culture. He also presents traditional balinese music in the nights at the restaurant. Restaurant is quite costly though. There's a sunset point behind and we loved sitting there for hours and talking to papa jero and other guests. Banyumala waterfall, tamblingan forest and lake beratan are the closest places as per 'mountain standards'. Overall it is a nice place if you are looking for a comfortable and not a luxurious place. The stars in the nights from papa jero's farm are worth seeing. "

" Family is very friendly & included breakfast is delicious. If you need anything, ask. Food prices are high if you're used to local warungs, but okay for most tourists. You can refill your water bottle. I like hot water, so I had to fill my thermos in the morning for the day, but they were also accomodating about that. The view in the frontbis beautiful. "

" I had paid online but had forgotten as it had not come off my credit card for a few days after booking. When I arrived he asked me to pay. I said, is it not paid. He said no. I paid 170,000. After I checked and saw that I had already paid. They refused to give me back my money. If I wanted to pay 340,000 I would have gone to a 3 star hotel. Dishonest owners. Nice view of lake from over the road. No view from room as there was supposed to be. Lots of insects in room. Nice chairs and table outside room. Welcome cup of tea. Sink was blocked. Room was quiet. "

" The area is full of overpriced hotels that will offer you awful rooms at not reasonable prices, in the middle of the touristic flow. If you are a budget traveller who wants to experience a stay in the mountains, this place is perfect. The negative aspect is that we've been there during the wet season, so it rained a lot and the rooms were really dump: our bags were wet and the smell of the rooms was not exactly nice. On the other hand, the price is cheap, the food is excellent, there is hot water, the owners are friendly and helpful and the view is breathtaking. I'd go again. "

We liked the jungle room the most, other rooms were a bit damp and in need of some updating (we switched to the jungle room after the first night) Great area for some adventure, going to waterfalls, hiking and the best botanical garden (in Bedugul, down the mountain) Just get yourself a scooter to get around! "

" Good breakfast. There was a gamelan show on both nights that I stayed here. They have a fireplace in the restaurant but on both nights, they failed to get the fire going for long.
06 May 2016Pillow and blanket could do with some sun as it smells musty. The place is run down and in need for some cleaning. Papa Jero tries his best to be helpful and informative. Mama Jero is a quiet supportive woman who gets the work done.
The highlight must be their extremely hot showers — a nice thing to have after a hard and cold day's trekking. You can get great sunrise and sunset views from in front and behind the property respectively. "

I booked a handful of eco-tours with Papa Jero while staying here and couldn't be more pleased. I left feeling like I had a good idea what Bali is all about, and with a love for the Balinese people and food.
