" Disgusting! I went out for a swim and if you don't have a snorkeling mask you'll chew plastic for sure ...
it's crazy there are piles of rubbish in the ocean , I snorkeled there for about 5 minutes and I just felt dirty :/ if it would be clean you would definitely have fun there as you can see lots of nice fish there but yeah as I sad you are swimming in plastic. I would rather go to virgin beach it's quite clean and you have a good Reef there. "

" A good place to enjoy the sunrise. Not many locals come around here. And the place is quite beautiful with rocks and greenery surrounded and with ocean in front. Such a pleasant feeling to just hear the waves thrashing around in the black sand and the morning rays of the sun just glistening across the vast ocean. "

" We went scuba here. Snorkel would be good too because the corals are not too far from shore. They are beautiful. However, you should know the current condition. It is best to flow with the current. You could start at the right location and then follow the current along the drop coral wall. Love it "

" I don't know why some people posted a bed picture for this beach. There's no bed. Okay, there may be a small cafe by the beach, but that's all (and it was closed most of the times). The beach is very secluded, pretty hard to access. But it's also intimate (if you happen to go with your significant other). "

" The best place for snorkeling. It's still virgin as of now. Coral reefs await you just a few metres into the ocean. It's a dream world under the ocean, here. It's a quiet cove, with white sands and turquoise waters. Can't wait to go back. "

" Stunning location spoilt by the relentless diving. The garbage and dirt from the ferries and local boats seemed to be choking the beautiful area. Local awareness and intent completely missing and tourism only making the natural surroundings uninhabitable. Must visit but please help by insisting fellow travellers not to litter and avoid plastic products as far as possible. "

" Initially, I thought this is the best along Padandbai.

We were just collected with Rp2,000 for parking fee for our motorbike. There's no entrance fee.

There's a stair to go down near the shore.
You can rent a bench from upper deck or put your towel in the sand (just look for better place) because during high tide, the water will reach you (got my towel wet while sunbathing due to strong waves).

The resort has a local restaurant too.

The place is lovely. It's just that, some foreigners leave trash in the place like plastic drinking bottles, sunblock lotion container, etc. There's no one maintaining the resort so please everyone who visit here must be cautious on throwing their trash.

Let's keep the place clean. "

" Beautiful beach and even better snorkeling. There is some plastic in the water and on the beach but mostly clean beach and some shade on the left side. Be careful around the coral but on the left side is easy access to the coral. Beach is reached through two stairs and parking is payable on top "

" Parking is available up the top for 2000 rupiah for a motorbike. The beach is great for a chilled out snorkel. There is easy access and not much wave activity. Beach space and shade is limited so make sure you bring your suncream! "

" From Kuta about 1.5h with bike, easy to find and only 2k parking fee. 2 restaurants with reasonably priced food.
Although the weather conditions weren't very good we had fairly clear view. Nice variety of fish and even a turtle. Coral is reasonable depending on your expectations. "

" Nice beach to relax. Not crowded. Only has one restaurant. There are monkeys on the trees. You have to walk about 5 -10 mins uphill to get to the stairs that will get you there. Be careful sometimes the waves are too dangerous for swimming. When i was there there was 3 people that almost drown. "

" Good place to laze around. But not a great place but just as decent one. Nice place to snorkeling for beginners.... It has white sand ocean floor, quite a number of different colorful fishes... But one can't find beautiful corals around like nusa penida... So definitely can visit this beach once for snorkeling and scuba diving... "

" Beutiful beach near Padang Bay. Lot of corals and colorful fishes. Good place for snorkeling and diving. You can rent snorkeling equipment from local people there. There are also 2 restaurants serving fresh seafood and young coconuts. Meals in restaurants are relative cheap. "

" An Ok location for snorkelling when trash plastic free, beach access is FREE, this is a 'wow' for Bali, parking is 2K/5K for scooters/cars.
The beach is sandy, but rocky in shallow water, take shoes/sandals to get in, the best access is on the left end, a sand path allows to get in, then swim behind the rocks. Restaurant and tourist shopping available, including deckchairs.Lovely spot for sunrise, quiet meditation. "

" This is a great, quiet little location. We were able to walk out and see colorful fish everywhere. If you want to get in some easy, yet good, snorkeling, this is the place! "

" Well, definitely not one of the most beautiful beaches.. concrete details and really a small beach is what you'll find there. We went snorkeling and that was superfun, but, if you just want to go to the beach-find better one cause this is really just not nice. "

" This place is not the nicest beach at all in Bali but have one real advantage. Mainly that only swimming 20 m from the beach you find tropical sea life snorkeling. The restaurant not good and there are big waves most of the time. You can rent there very bad snorkeling equipment. There are boats standing there waiting for you to take you out to snorkeling spots. It is not really worth going away from here you more or less find the same there. "

" A lot of fish, saw the unicorn fish and a beautiful small white and black striped snake. The waves were very big but i think that's because we came at the wrong time. The kids thought the waves were great fun and the fish were there once you got past them, a lot of salesmen on the beach. Otherwise it was a great experience. "

" The beach is small, and looks nice, but it depends a lot on the current. When we visited, waves were pushing dirt inland, so both the sea and the beach were dirty. We decided not to swim and snorkel, but wished we could have to opportunity to do it again, someday. "

" I had one day to snorkel in Bali and came here. The corals and fish were amazing, but there was way too much trash floating in the water. Also too many boats coming and going. "

" Dirty. Came to see bioluminescence at night (they are supposed to have it according to google) Waited till dark and no one was left in the hopes of seeing them. I did try to splash the water around to agitate the little light emitting critters, if they exist. Well, No lights...Nothing. To get back to the main busy street, you will need to walk through a much quieter street IN THE DARK. Was really worried about the safety of my family there. Luckily we passed through unscathed. On the plus side, the sand was soft. "

" Hidden from traffic. This beach has a spectacular view of the blue lagoon. There is a small local restaurant offering some local foods. "

" Quite and picturesque beach with a nice variety of colorful fishes. Make sure you go there early in the morning before all the tourists and boats go there. We came at 7:30 am and enjoyed snorkeling "

" As a fairly regular customer in your restaurant I enjoy very much the atmosphere and the view. However I don't enjoy the Indonesian radio pop music and chatting that is mainly catering to the staff and certainly not adding but rather taking away from the beauty of this place. A nice spot for a quiet meal or coffee by the sea..... "

" A public small beach. Live up to it's name. Very nice place for snorkelling and dive but the water can be quite harsh for some beginners. Clear pristine water. Snorkel, goggle n fin is available for rent. Shower also available for fee. Overall is ok. "

" The walk to Blue Lagoon is only ten minutes from the harbour.
The beach is small and can get a little crowded as the tide takes your space but we hit the beach at 9.30 am got a good spot.
Conditions were perfect and there is a good entry point into the beach at the bottom end if not you will have coral to deal with and a couple of the local tourists came out with the normal hobble because of the coral but nothing to be too concerned about.
The funny part about the beach is that the local Snorkelling company takes you to two places to snorkel and this was one of them.
I found the snorkelling excellent and the visability was very good and got to see good numbers and variety of fish.
The locals selling on the beach are not pushy but ask you and if you give them a smile and say no thank you it is generally enough.
They work hard for their money and we are vistors to their country.
The people of Padangbai have been extremely friendly and when you engage them you reap the benefits "

" This is a review of the beach, not resort.
The beach is small but very nice, mixed black and white sand. The beach is clean, there is some trash on the sea floor. The water is clear and good for snorkeling. There are many fish and live corals. However, many boats with annoying divers come to the bay and make it harder to snorkel. The reef on the right side was the nicest for me. I have even seen five new kinds of fish here. "

" The beach is quite lovely but small. The problem about it are the ladies selling all sort of merchandise. Not actually selling, but guilting you into buying it. I think we didn't get even 5 minutes of actual peace and quiet. The restaurant with the same name has extremely poor higiene. I found a hair in my food and the manager didn't even care after telling her about it. We've been to many places in Bali and we haven't been this disappointed yet. I would recommend skipping this beach and going to White sand beach that is close by. "

" Nice little water hole. Most people will arrive here by boat but you can easily get close enough and then take a little walk down to the cove. Pretty decent main land snorkeling with a large variety of fish swimming around. Depending the tide the visibility can get taken down a bit. But still good enough.

The not too far off White Sands beach is probably a better choice if your time is limited and you just want to hit the beach. This location is better for snorkeling and aquatic life with the beach not being quite as good. Visit both to get some of each.. "

" Great little bay for snorkeling or a quick dipp in crystal clear water. Whole day could be boring as it is super small place. "

" Beautiful beach but the water is very shallow and the coral is sharp! Be careful bring after shoes. The beach is rundown and not to many options for food or anything. Don't know if is come back when I could just go to semenyak "

" Good spot for a few relaxing hours sunbathing and snorkeling. Can get quite busy with dive boats and tourists. Subsequently hawkers are here all day, although not as pushy as other places. Little shady places, so don't get here too late. "

09 October 2016

David Morris

" Nice snorkelling if you get there early and at low tide. Later on it gets full of tourists and subsequent tourist tat hawkers. Beach almost non existent at high tide. Can be difficult to get out to the reef due to strong currents and rocky shallows. "

" Great spot for watching sun rise. It's facing perfectly East and there are some islands in the horizon to add an extra touch to the scenery. It's located about 10 minutes walk from the Padangbai harbor and thus it's well situated for all travellers heading to Gili islands or Lembongan "

04 October 2016

Stefan Hegenbart

" Small and quiet lagoon, lots of snorklers around but not crowded. Actually not the best spot for snorkeling during high tide. You may want to head north around 1 mile (check with your guide). People are friendly, food is good - lovely spot overall. "

" Nice beach, but very dirty. It would need better maintenance to keep it clean and remove the trash "

" Views are incredible, love the yoga in the mornings. One of the nicer places to stay in what is otherwise essentially a run down port town. You won't find any rats here! Buffet breakfast in the morning is great and the views even better. The other cool element of Bloo Lagoon is the eco focus. Would definitely stay here again. "

" The place is like a big trash hole. Full of trash and garbage even in the bar itself. If they had some respect for their business they would at least clean the trash in the stairs that lead there. The beach was very dirty. The Google photos are showing a place that might be like this with a bit of Photoshop and ideal weather conditions. "

28 March 2016

Gonzalo Rivera

" Not a good option if you're more than 20 min away from the beach, you have to pay a 5000 rp fee to go in and the place is not the best, there's so many rubish in the see and water is not really nice to do snorkeling. Better go to "white sand beach" that is less than 10 min away. "

" Best stay ever. Kicked off our honeymoon and it was awesome. Had a whole villa to ourselves. They even have a pool with a slide. amazing. "
