Excellent service, staffs offered us promo and very polite. Taste? of course 5/5, Sushi Tei is my most favourite sushi restaurant in Indonesia. The price is also reasonable.

Fresh sushi as always, various menus in the belt. My fave is Spicy Haruyaki, best served when it's hot. And within 1 week before and after your birthday, you will get a free birthday sushi! Yummy. Btw it is packed at weekend so we sometimes need to queue but their queue system is already good so no prob. There's a small playground in front of it so children won't get bored queuing.

Nice place, always long queue, delicious sushi, the price also considered reasonable. My favourite menus are unagi sushi, salmon mentai, salmon skin, corn ice cream. Definitely the most recommended sushi restaurant in town!

Worst Jap store experience....ordered ramen, soup was so salty like drinking soya sauce. Music was loud. It wasn't meal time, place was quite empty, waitresses wandering around and talking loudly to each other as they walked passed me, shouting over my ears....really bad atmospher!!

Expect a long line before eating at this place, a good service, good quality japanese food, not only the sushi is good, try other menu like the sukiyaki, which suprisingly super delicious and full of tender meat.
David Lee (05/09/2017 14:28)
Very fresh food. But need little more vinegar into it's sushi rice to make it more japanese.

This new place of sushi tei near the attic garden have such a better ambience, modern Japanese style with larger capacity. The staffs are quite a lot. They serve us very quickly with friendly and professional attitude. Each tables equips with call button that is very helpful. The sushi as always is great, fresh. The hot ocha is always hot and refillable.

I think it's great for people who love fusion sushi, even though it's not that authentic. I guess that's the reason why this restaurant is so crowded, because it's suitable for indonesian people.
This restaurant just move from MKG 5, and it's bigger, so the queuing time is shorter. I recommend crispy salmon aburi for the sushi roll! Oh, and they still have those ocha for free ;)

If you're up for fusion sushi, this is the place to be. This isn't the first sushi restaurant in Indonesia. But arguably, sushi-tei popularized and redefined the genre in Indonesia since it opened up shop over a decade ago.
There's a reason why there is always a queue on Friday evenings and weekends here in the Kelapa Gading outlet (or wherever else, I imagine). I guess it's a balance between price, sushi menus that are catered to the Indonesian taste buds, as well as a variety of choices.
Best seat in the house (at least for me) is at the sushi bar where the dish is always an arm's length away on the conveyor belt. The problem with this is that we are always at the whim of the restaurant. They do have a system of what menu to put on the belt and when. But you can always order something to the waiter/waitresses.
Menu wise, they do have a lot of variety. But sometimes I can't help but feel that they keep rehashing older dishes with slight adjustments and selling them as a new dish (a la Pizza Hut). But then again, how much can you innovate out of sushi?
The interior design of the new shop in Kelapa Gading is a bit better than the old one back when they were still on the 1st floor. Brighter and slightly bigger. The seats on the bar are also better this time around. Wider and better cushioned.
So to sum up, if you want traditional sushi, this isn't the place to be. Yes you can get the more traditional dishes in sushi tei, but the experience is different. What they do excel in is fusion (or westernized) sushi where they use more ingredients in one dish mixed with a lot of mayonnaise/cream cheese/avocado (calories ahoy)! But apparently this is what the Indonesian market wants. Itadakimasu!

Makanan dateng lama.Sajikan makanan tidak menarik.Nasinya juga nga terlalu enak...

Good japanese food (fusion?), but it is too crowded, long queues especially on weekends.

Liked the sushi. Restaurant has moved from previously accross Duck King in MKG to ex Pongs floor near Eat n Eat. Place is bigger, more cozy, the food is delicious, various option of sushi. Service is fast. Price is a bit expensive.
Tommy Harland (15/01/2017 07:34)
Love the fresh sushi, quick service, and very reasonable priced
Kecap Manis (27/12/2016 04:26)
Serving Japanese standard and fusion. Sashimi is rather average, grilled fish is good, and rolled sushi is very good. Always a queue during weekend lunch and dinner time.
Jeffry Willar (31/07/2016 07:31)
Best sushi with good price. Long queue at dinner time
Arif Iskandar (28/07/2016 05:20)
The most popular sushi franchise in Jakarta, maybe Indonesia.

My favourite sushi place i have visit
marcello stanley (03/02/2016 01:17)
probably the most popular sushi place in jakarta. ok-ish menu, sometimes the photo is way too good compared to the taste. price is good for many, exorbitant for some. dont expect too much, but it is a good place. loooong queue is a turn off
Ivan Yudhi (28/10/2015 19:13)
This is your regular sushi place serving crazy rolls and standard Japanese food. This place is always busy with long lines, but don't buy into the hype.
If you like those extravagant rolls with crazy condiments, even fried, then yeah you might like this place. I personally don't. Sushi aren't meant to be served that way. The food is decent though, that's I have to admit. My advice, if you have to wait for more than 10 minutes for a table, go somewhere else. It's not worth it.
