Suitable for children, great place for doing some educational activities such as seeing the collection of porcelain and you can also make your own creation from the clay for 50k IDR. You'll get super patient coach if you're lucky enough. It was great experience visiting this Museum.

Very few collections. The place feels rundowned. Many signs are incomplete or missing. Many information are not available in english. All computers and videos were turned off when I was there. Fans were turned off as well, and no air conditioning. Not sure if that was good for the collections. People were there only to take selfies or portraits around the pillars at the front.

One of the museum on the main historical square. It's worth to visit to learn more about paintings, ceramics, carvings. For those who love art then you have to visit. They have collection from famous artists, historical ceramics such as terracotta from Majapahit kingdom, world ceramics: European, mainly China. They also have ceramics treasure from sinking ship. On the second floor they have various Indonesian earthenware.

Nice place with just a few collections. There are not so many people visited here at the moment.. One collection that steal my eyes is the man statue sitting on lower staircase, it looks so real (see the picture below). :p

There are not only ceramics, but also paintings and sculpture too. You can learn and make your own ceramics too there. But when I went, there is no sticky mud left, and it is only 11 o'clock. Better to come in the morning. So I just look around. It is still a good place to visit.

A nice place to get to be introduced to art in Indonesia, especially with Jakarta Biennale 2017 using this museum as one of the side venues

The entrance tickets sells outside of the building~ Every room every hall lack of Air Conditioner, and there's no big and clear information board inside. Modern themes touching needed!!! Make this museum more modern, and equipped well!!!

The historical building and the museum of Jakarta, have great building architecture. This place is the education tourism destination in Jakarta

Located in the colonial courthouse, the Jakarta Art Museum offers visitors a glimpse of the history of Indonesian art.
The good bits: The building is very Instagrammable, the entry is cheap, & the ground floor AC is a huge relief
The bad bits: The art is poorly kept-the paintings have probably been picked at by visitors, the pottery is overwhelmingly Majapahit, & the narrative is practically nonexistent (true for most Indonesian museums)

It is such a great place of knowing the fine arts of Indonesia. There are paintings, craftings, wrought irons. You should come here

The arts inside is so good, and the place can be easily spotted when you're just walking around don't know where to go, this place is strategic.

Do not expected from Jakartas museums a lot, this museum has nice collection of different Keramik over the World which reflect colonial era in Java. Plenty of little Duch memorial and few Keramik piece.
Very appreciate young students from local school which are working in this museum. In case that you have some simple question they speak nice english so you wont have any problems.

I need to give it 4 since it's like gallery in disguise. The cons are; it is museum. With museum smell and museum maintenance quality.
Rame Legno (02/10/2016 00:52)
Bad display. The museum keep on mixing ceramic artefact with painting. They need to separate it, since the ceramic came from 14th century while the painting is younger. They lacking in sculpture and print. They even didn't have enough masterpiece collection. Budgeting problem.

Rendra Budi Hutama (20/08/2016 14:24)
The exterior of the building was great, like greece building. You could enter this museum with cheaper ticket if you bring student ID card.
The collection was fairly nice. But some side was dusty and creepy because there are not much people visiting this museum.
