Free of charge, but the place is rather too small for a gallery. Please add more arts and expand the building. Place is clean and comfy, the provide enough parking area, not many people this day visit this museum.

An art museum with so many events, good for enjoying and appreciating art. I often goes here alone and just wandering around and put my mind off for a while by enjoying the arts. The restroom aren't comfortable enough though, and i often found the handsoap dispenser empty.

Great to get some culture in Jakarta. They've upgraded the buildings and exhibition rooms over the years and now host regular traveling exhibitions as well as the permanent exhibition in the restored 2nd floor galleries. Well worth a visit if you're in Jakarta.

This place consists of (around) four or five buildings. It divided into two parts: for temporary and permanent exhibitions. If you want to see the permanent exhibition, you can come everyday (except Monday) from 10am-4pm. This located across the Gambir Station. You can ride a motorcycle or come with train.
Ariella Easterlita (02/09/2017 13:20)
Their art collection is quite wide, from the colonial era through the modern era -- sectioned carefully. They also have a few of Raden Saleh's famous paintings inside their permanent exhibition. Just make sure your visit ended before lunch time (about 1 PM) or started after 2 PM, so you won't get interrupted by the (unfriendly) guards. Free admission for their permanent exhibition.
Indah Prawita Sari (27/08/2017 13:59)

The museum's not so big but there are a lot of great paintings inside, both fine & contemporary arts. Love the display, too. They paint the wall with different colors and placed the paintings accordingly, which makes the experience even better. Staffs are also nice. The good news is it's completely free, so it's definitely worth a visit!

Great place to pleasure your eyes. The arts at this gallery is wonderful. The building is nice, cozy, and colorful. The parking lot is huge, it fits many cars or even bus can fit in. This is a great place to calm your mind. Here I give you some of my shots during my trip there. Enjoy!

Very recommended place to visit if you free on the weekend. Free entry. You must queue a bit, because the amount of people inside is limited. But worth to wait.
They show many kind of paints through years even decades. Tell us the story behind the paint. There are also some contemporary arts and even modern arts. I go round this place until my feet so stiff!

One of the most active art gallery in Indonesia. It has permanent collection of Indonesian maestros in second floor of Building B. You can see the collection exhibition on Tuesday to Sunday. They also have many temporary exhibition in Building A, B, C. Usually once in a month. One of the most important exhibition held here was the solo exhibition of Raden Saleh in 2015.
Galih Dwi Putranto (20/01/2017 07:12)
Busy with exhibitions which means great for visitors. They have 2 sections; temporary and permanent exhibiotions. The permanent one contains old to modern art in Indonesia in chronological and historical order
Cindy Wandini (18/01/2017 16:06)
Feels so good to came in here. You won't feel any regret. Galeri Nasional hold a temporary exhibition which are awesome in the A building and in the B builidng, there's a local art.
I suggest you to come here around 10-11am because if you come at noon or evening, there were many people coming in and it means you have to make a queue and wait for people inside the building to go out so then you can come in. Every building has it limits for the visitors.
Gabrielle TR (14/09/2016 05:19)
The place was okay and they have some good murals. But you have to make sure if there's an event or exhibiton, or you can't see anything. In Friday, the gallery is closed for a long time due to Friday prayer.
Kevin Johan (20/08/2016 11:47)
There are plenty of art collection here. The place is in center of Jakarta so you can easily access it by TransJakarta or any other transport. Recommend: do not come in the weekend because it's packed with visitor. Also there are occasionally art exhibits great art such as painting and sculpture.
Rio Rinaldo (19/08/2016 08:55)
The gallery's permanent exhibition is hardly known but at times, it displays real gems of arts. This month is a small part of the Palace's painting collections titled Goresan Juang Kemerdekaan, comemmorating the 71th independence day of our nation. Among my favorites are Raden Saleh's the Capture of Diponegoro and Henk Ngantuk's archer painting, which was finished using the hands of Soekarno as model. Go see until 30/8.
Achmad Vicky Andiansah (12/08/2016 11:09)

Nia Wibiyana (08/08/2016 03:21)
I always love art gallery💗💗💗
Free entrance fee for the regular gallery, no need to register, it also has airconditioner (you need to wait to enter the gallery since they limit the number of visitors inside)
But when there's an exhibithion, you'll need to register yourself to see it, which takes a very long time (also mostly for free)
Mas Adi Nugraha (17/06/2016 07:45)
Ada beberapa hall yang digunakan untuk keperluan pameran.

Visited the Galeri Nasional for #AkuDiponegoro exhibition - superb! The place would benefit from a little bit of makeover and adding of more interesting collection, perhaps?
